Gucci dropped an exclusively digital pair of sneakers called The Gucci Virtual 25, that can be 'worn' in the virtual environments of Roblox and VRChat. The $13 kicks were designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele himself. In addition, Gucci allows users of digital collecting app Aglet to create custom sneakers, while in the official Gucci app the sneaker catalog can be tried in AR. As the desire for digital collectibles is growing alongside the NFT boom, Gucci is already ahead of the game, with not just a token but an item that can actually be used across gaming environments.
